Kite is a music device built for childhood. This policy explains what information we collect when you join our email list, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep this short and plain on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@kitemusic.kids.
This site is for grown-ups. The Kite website and email list are intended for parents and other adults, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us at hello@kitemusic.kids and we will delete it.

Kite (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website at kitemusic.kids. For any privacy question or request, you can reach us at hello@kitemusic.kids.
What we collect
Right now, Kite is in its early days, and our website does one thing: it lets you join our email list. When you sign up, we collect:
- Your email address.
- Your first name, if you choose to give it.
When you open or click our emails, our email provider may also record basic engagement information, such as whether a message was opened or a link was clicked, along with standard technical details like your approximate location and device type. We use this only to understand whether our updates are useful.
We do not ask for, or collect, payment information, mailing addresses, or any sensitive personal information through this site today.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Send you updates about Kite as we build it.
- Let you know first when reservations and our crowdfunding launch open.
- Understand which updates are helpful so we can send fewer, better emails.
That is all. We will not use your email to send you unrelated marketing, and we will not add you to lists you did not ask to join.
Who we share it with
We will never share or sell your data. We do not trade, rent, or sell your information to anyone, and we never will.
To run our email list, we use beehiiv, an email platform that stores subscriber information and sends our emails on our behalf. Your email address and any details you provide are held securely on beehiiv's systems and handled under their privacy and security practices. The only other situation in which we would disclose your information is if the law requires it, such as a valid legal request.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you stay on our list. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our active list promptly and from our records within a reasonable period after that.
Your choices and your rights
You are always in control of your information:
- Unsubscribe at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list.
- Access or delete your information. Email us at hello@kitemusic.kids and we will tell you what we hold or delete it, whichever you ask for.
- Correct your information. Let us know and we will fix it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain uses. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you are. To make a request, just email us.
Cookies and tracking
Our website is intentionally simple. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels to follow you around the web. If we add basic, privacy-respecting analytics in the future to understand how many people visit, we will update this policy first.
What's coming next
Kite is growing. In the near future we plan to open reservations, which will involve collecting additional information such as a refundable deposit through a secure payment provider. When that happens, we will update this policy and our terms before you are asked for any of that information, so you always know what you are agreeing to.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. For meaningful changes, we will also let our email subscribers know.
